Verizon Wireless joins the ranks of 40 other handset suppliers such as Samsung, LG Electronics, and Korea’s SK Telecom Co as the company joined a consortium working on a Linux-based mobile operating system. The company said it would take a seat on the Limo Foundation’s board and projects to have its first phones based on the LiMo operating system in the market by 2009. Astak offers up the low-cost Mentor e-book reader
We’ve been seeing announcements on several e-book readers coming into the market lately. Either the Amazon Kindle has generated a lot of interest from consumers wanting something more, or consumers are really into reading e-books. Now here comes another e-book reader from a company called Astak - the Mentor. Astak is feeling generous as they decided to come up with not just one but three e-book models offering a choice of either a 5-inch, 6-inch or 9.7-inch display. Astak says that the larger the size of the e-book reader, the more features it would have. True enough since the 9.7-inch would come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as a 1200 x 825 pixel resolution. (Read the full post about ‘Astak offers up the low-cost Mentor e-book reader’…)

Don’t waste that banana, go for the (ba)NANA Saver

Written by admin on Friday, May 16th, 2008 in gadgets.

Eating only half an apple is easy, but eating half a banana isn’t. Well let me rephrase the statement. Preserving a left-over apple is easy, but preserving a left-over banana isn’t.

Which is why the NANA Saver Banana Holder seems like a good idea. The plastic banana holder can be clipped to the exposed end of a sliced banana to minimize air contact. So that the slice remains fresh for a longer duration – just don’t ask how long as it is not mentioned on the site. What the heck, it is definitely innovation at $2.98.

New Aliph Jawbone is Official
The Jawbone 2 which we looked at earlier will still retain the Jawbone namesake, as that is how Aliph wants to name this new iteration without introducing numbers behind that could potentially swell to the equivalent of SuperBowl figures in the future. The new Aliph Jawbone is 50% smaller than the original, featuring “NoiseAssassin” technology that will improve upon the noise canceling technology found in the original. It will also feature a faster processor on board along with a Voice Activity Sensor, where the Jawbone will know you’re, well, jawbonin’. A fast charging battery can suck up to 80% within half an hour, and it comes with a more down-to-earth talk time of 4 hours and 8 days of standby, probably due to its small size.
