Turn your old tapes into USB hubs

Turn your old tapes into USB hubs
Ah, the VHS tape. I have so many fond memories of thee. We had such great times as I adjusted the tracking on the VCR (after I had figured out how to get it to stop blinking 12:00 of course) and the countless hours I spent rewinding you over the years. They were good times, but with my DVDs I don’t have to mess with any of that. Which is of course why I purged my collection of tapes about a year ago. I can’t really say that I miss them, but if I did, I could always turn one into a USB hub and stare at it every day. I’m not really sure why someone would have the desire to create a VHS USB hub. I can understand the nostalgic purposes behind bringing back the cassette tapes in one form or another, but did anyone truly love the VHS? Nikko’s R2 gets an upgrade to R3
Last year, we broke the news that Nikko Electronics had created the ultimate home theater bot in the R2D2 Projector DVD player, a plucky well put together droid that not only provides comedy relief, but can help you relive that “help me Obi Wan Kinobi” fantasy. Well, now Nikko announces that R2 has gotten an upgrade … Controlled by a Millenium Falcon remote (which is quite a handful to operate in an of itself), the new R3-D2 sports the ability to project a screen up to 260 inches wide, features 1800 lumens brightness and an amazing 1800:1 contrast ratio. Users can plug in anything from an ipod to a flash memory card, USB drive, and even a game console for those late night Star Wars Force Unleashed forays online in full HD. A cell phone to conquer the world

Written by admin on Monday, May 5th, 2008 in gadgets.

I have seen the iPhone, and all the blackberry’s and other smart phones. Then I have heard the cold, dead polyphonic ringtone of my phone with its barely audible Casio keyboard cover of “Superstar”, mocking me. I bought my phone a mere eight months ago, just after the dawn of the iphone, choosing it for its sleek size, and a consumer review which noted its superior battery life and technical bells and whistles. My phone is an excellent phone, and I could care less.

I want a phone that does everything else, maybe even magic.

MTI Micro showcases fuel cell-powered GPS prototype
by Darren Murph, posted May 2nd 2008 at 11:14AM MTI Micro is edging dangerously close to vaporware status, but until 2009 comes and goes, we suspect we still owe it the benefit of the doubt. The ever-boastful company is at it once again, this time showing off a purported fuel cell powered-GPS prototype at the International Small Fuel Cells Conference in Atlanta. The Mobion-powered device promises to provide “three times as much energy as GPS devices powered by four disposable AA batteries,” meaning that users could see up to 60-hours of continuous use on a large, full-color screen navigator. You’ll also find an integrated USB port for using it as an energy source, so you could theoretically utilize your NAV to charge your handset / PMP / ray gun. Could these be images of the upcoming next-gen 3G iPhone

Could these be images of the upcoming next-gen 3G iPhone
While these images seem realistic, they could be a mix of just about anything from a Photoshop job to simply being an iphone knock-off. One thing that is for sure is that these next-gen 3G iPhone rumors and sightings are not going to stop until the official announcement comes. The latest sighting consists of two images and comes courtesy of iPhon.fr, who claim that they cannot verify the source of the images, so take them for what they are worth. Whether real or faked, they certainly look a little more in the ballpark than the last “leaked” image that turned out to be nothing more than a new back piece being sold in Hong Kong.
