Fujitsu lets loose U810, T2010 tablet PCs
Fujitsu wasn’t all that specific about pricing or release details when it announced its new U810 and T2010 tablet PCs earlier this year, but it looks like both have now finally made their way out the door. In case you missed it, the big addition this time around is the inclusion of a built-in HSPA modem (and rather obvious antenna), which will run you an extra $200 on top of the $999 and $1,499 base prices for the U810 and T2010, respectively. Otherwise, you can expect the same 5.6-inch and 12.1-inch displays as before, along with the usual 800MHz Intel A110 processor on the U810 and a decidedly speedier Core 2 Duo 7600 processor on the T2010, among other specs not too different from the previous models. BodyBeat Metronome

BodyBeat Metronome
Metronomes are meant for budding musicians to keep the beat while playing a tune, and the BodyBeat Metronome is certainly out of the ordinary as it is an electronic version that clips onto your fingertip, letting you feel the beat of the music instead of listening to it. Dubbed the Peterson BB-1 BodyBeat, it sends tiny pulses down the wire to your fingertip, providing you with a silent way of learning how to concentrate whenever you play a tune on your keyboard or piano. Sure as heck beats the irritating tick-tock tick-tock of a regular metronome. The Peterson BB-1 BodyBeat retails for a shade less than a Benjamin. (Read the full post about ‘BodyBeat Metronome’…)

Maker Faire Preview: DIY Weddings, Flaming Soap Bubbles, and More
You know you’re a nerd when you’re trying to impress a date by working with her on an elaborate, do-it-yourself project for the Maker Faire. For Corey McGuire, the tactic worked. McGuire said that he spent many hours volunteering his time on various Maker Faire projects last year, in an effort to woo his bride-to-be. "You have to try really hard when you are trying to woo a woman with nerdiness," McGuire said. This weekend, McGuire and his sweetheart, Hallie McConlogue, will get married at the Faire. McConlogue, an independent programmer and designer, and McGuire, a NASA Ames researcher, have together contributed to a half-dozen projects for the annual do-it-yourself festival, now in its third year.
