Chanel Concept Phone

Chanel Concept Phone
Guess Chanel wants to follow the footsteps of Prada by unveiling a cell phone in the near future. This sleek silver square of a handset definitely looks good, but the bigger question is this - does it work well? Dubbed the Chanel Coco (how un-original), this handset is designed by Fred de Garihe. There is no word on when the project will actually materialize, but it apparently will be designed to work with an optical fiber system. (Read the full post about ‘Chanel Concept Phone’…)

Alienware’s Area-51 m17x gaming laptop now on sale
by Darren Murph, posted Apr 29th 2008 at 7:39PM For most, Alienware’s AlienNetwork debut was somewhat of a letdown. Nevertheless, at least one good thing did come out of the whole event, and that’s the availability of the m17x gaming monster. This 17-inch beast of a laptop finally has its own dedicated page, and yes, you can get your order in starting today. Packed within, you’ll find your choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processor, twin GPUs for that sweet SLI action, a WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) display, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, oodles of hard drive space, a dual-layer DVD writer (or optional Blu-ray burner), enough ports for you and your cousin and a 12-cell battery that’ll likely last an hour on a good day. Psystar Video Shows Valiant Attempt At Copying A Mac
Gizmodo reader Patrick sent in a video and photo gallery of the new Psystar Open Computer, pre-loaded with OS X Leopard. The video shows a feature that the original Apple hardware lacks: Hit the “on” button and the thing goes off like a leaf-blower. Nice touch. Also, check the guts of the machine (the Psystar box is on the left, in case you weren’t sure). Sure is pretty, huh? TAC Universal PS2-to-PS3 Converter
Currently, Activision and Harmonix don’t seem to be too comfortable with one another in order to implement broad hardware compatibility where Rock Band and Guitar Hero controllers are concerned, but Ant Commandos has a new converter that allows you to maximize the use of your old PS2 axes, regardless of whether they are wired or wireless. The TAC Universal PS2-to-PS3 Converter is compatible with PS3 Rock Band and PS2/PS3 GHIII, and functions with just about every PS2 axe to date. Only meant for hardcore Guitar Hero/Rock Band fans despite its meager $20 price tag. (Read the full post about ‘TAC Universal PS2-to-PS3 Converter’…)

FC Mobile handheld for original NES gaming fun

FC Mobile handheld for original NES gaming fun
Oh, man, my husband will never let me live this one down. Nearly an entire drawer in our spare-room dresser, you see, has been home to an original Nintendo console and a stack of 8-bit game cartridges he picked up several years ago for no apparent reason other than the fact that he saw it at a store. He’s always been adamant about keeping the retro set, Duck Hunt gun and all, and now I finally know why. He’s been waiting for this crazy-looking FC Mobile portable game system to hit the market. Designed for those enormous NES cartridges that often required a little “blowing into” to work properly when I was a kid, the handheld is equipped with a 2.4-inch color display, runs on three AA batteries, and can even hook up to a TV for big-screen playback (you know, to make the most of those awesome graphics). Manodo’s screen gives apartment dwellers the 411
by Darren Murph, posted Apr 29th 2008 at 9:44AM Those looking for another good reason to set up camp in Sweden have just found it. Okay, so maybe Manodo’s oh-so-informative display isn’t that astonishing, but it certainly gives a select few apartment residents in the country access to an enviable amount of information. Reportedly, the screen is being installed in several Swedish cities as part of a larger pilot project, and aside from dishing out details about the next available train, who exactly is standing outside their building and how much energy folks are currently consuming, it also serves up data on how many pounds of CO2 you’re responsible for releasing while kicking back in your pad. Overall Health Balance Scale

Overall Health Balance Scale
The Overall Health Balance Scale from National Electric is one interesting device that has been released to go up against the metabolic syndrome. It is able to take note of your weight, BMI, subcutaneous fat ratio, organ fat level, muscle level, and basal metabolic rate. Not only that, it also ranks you in each category on a five point scale and gives you an overall health rating based on your current age. The screen is a breeze to read no matter what your age is, and can be brought up to eye level while standing assuming your belly takes ownership of the largest diameter in your body. I think women will probably be more obsessed with the Overall Health Balance Scale’s results, as us men will probably resort to Wii Fit as a remedy.
