Dedupe your Windows Mobile contacts for free with DupeDeDupe

Challenge a developer and get a new app, at least that’s how DupeDeDupe was born. A question came up in the Mobius group about the best software to use for de-duping your contacts in Windows Mobile. Instead of answering the question, Paul from Modaco whipped up his own application that does a “down and dirty” job of comparing your contacts based on the following fields: File As, Email, and Home / Work / mobile phone fields. If they all match, it’s a dupe. You can then decide if you want to remove the dupes.
I’ve enjoyed my fair share of duplicates in the past since I switch between different devices. I’ve never found a great program for deduping, and instead always painfully go through a custom View in Outlook and manually dedupe. This program is definitely worth a shot, though. I’d recommend that Paul extend it to look at the notes and maybe some other fields, too, since that’s where most dupes come from when you switch to different devices.
