HumanCar gets a price, release date, new look
Posted Jan 30th 2008 3:01PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: Transportation It’s been awhile since we heard anything about the HumanCar, but it looks like the Flintstones-inspired vehicle is now rapidly becoming a reality, with it finally getting a price, release date and a even slightly sleeker new look. Apparently now more specifically known as the Imagine LMV, the vehicle will appropriately be available this coming Earth Day (April 22nd), when it’ll set you back a hefty $15,000 for the “base” model. For that price you’ll apparently get a top speed of 30 mph from the vehicle’s dual electric motors and, most importantly, “variable human power input,” which should soon make you the most popular member of your car pool group. IOGear announces Wireless USB CardBus Adapter

There are some technologies that I like to hold off on buying, no matter how great they seem. Take HD movies for example. Had I purchased one a few months ago, I’d likely be kicking myself, as I would have chosen to side with the HD DVD camp (which lets face it, is a sinking ship).Other times I fear that a technology may never catch on, and thus be useless altogether. This would be one reason why I haven’t jumped on board with Wireless USB (WUSB) just yet. I will admit, they are making it much easier to even get older hardware working with this new standard, which is apparent from the announcement of a CardBus WUSB adapter. LiveScribe Pulse smartpen coming in March
LiveScribe unveiled its innovative new Pulse smartpen last year at the D: All Things Digital show, but never managed to meet its release deadline of the end of 2007. Now, it looks likely the Pulse will get a release in March with two configurations. For those of you who haven’t heard of the Pulse before, it is–in its most basic form–a pen that can record the handwritten notes that you write, kind of like the Fly Fusion. But the Pulse is also a lot more than that, with extra features including: The ability to record audio and match it up to the notes you made. Continental becomes the latest to roll out in-flight Wi-Fi
As the latest airline to begin offering free in-flight Wi-Fi, Continental has announced their plans to allow passengers to have limited wireless access. The service will be similar to the Jet Blue service and allow passengers to use e-mail or instant messaging. Sadly web browsing and even downloading attachments will not be allowed. Sprint and Clearwire talking again, might still go to prom together
Posted Jan 30th 2008 6:02AM by Nilay PatelFiled under: Wireless Hey, breaking up is hard to do — which is why we totally understand these reports that Sprint and Clearwire have been back in touch after two companies split back in November. Apparently all that interest in Clearwire from ICO, Amp’d, and DirecTV was enough to get Sprint back to the table, and Reuters is reporting that the new venture could see additional funding from Google and Best Buy to keep costs down. Nyko reveals cord-free adapter for Wii Nunchuck, retrofitters rejoice
Posted Jan 30th 2008 7:06AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Gaming, Peripherals Oh sure, one could argue (quite successfully, we might add) that Nyko’s Wireless Nunchuck was quite the blessing for those sick and tired of the factory tether, but what about all us chaps and dames who already purchased Nintendo’s version of the Nunchuck? Fret not, Wii faithful, as Nyko is coming to your rescue once more. The aptly-titled Cord-Free Adapter for Wii Nunchuck enables current wired Nunchuck owners to simply holster their peripherals, wind up the cord and enjoy all sorts of wireless freedom.
